Beware the Blades of Karma
We were supposed to have a home now, with walls and floors. The constant traveling, trying to outrun nature was going to be over. We were going to build a life that resembled what we had lost, full of peace and the pursuit of happiness. We’d earned it.
Then all of the dreams that had held us through the nightmares shattered against the stone. We lost our hope, our home, and half of our members in the attempt. Now, outlasting death long enough to reach Kendle’s island is all that remains for us and even that isn’t certain.
“The future, cold and dark, offers little comfort. Without change, there can be no peace. Only survivors.”

Although I am addicted to this series, I am getting increasingly frustrated with the "cliffhanger" endings. The writing is great and definitely keeps you interested in the plot. I am very uncomfortable with the partnering of adults with children, I wish this part would fizzle out since if it continues, I may quit reading. This series started out with so much promise and now I just don't know where she is going. There is so much time that passes between the Books that I am spend way too much time trying to remember what happened in the last one I read. Angela White is a very talented writer and even though I disagree with some of the plots, I will probably read the next installment...unless it's too long being released.Product details

Shattered Dreams Book Seven Life After War 7 eBook Angela White Reviews
This book, as in all of this series, is compelling and very hard to put down! So many questions that still need to be answered in Book 10! The characters are so well developed that it makes the reader wish that they could reach out to them!! I want to know what happens when or IF the Maker's Call is answered and what that would mean for Safe Haven along with the consequences between Angie, Marc and Adrian. I can't wait to see what happens to Cynthia, Sam along with Neil and Jeremy, Kendle, Becky and Seth, Tracy and Charlie, Connor and all the rest of Safe Haven. And what is up with Chauncey? The twists and surprises keep the reader on edge between hope and despair. I love how Alexa's story is woven into this book! This amazing and apoplectic world according to Angela White is truly addicting!!!
The latest installment in the Life After War Series. I LOVED IT !! Each and every character has a space in my heart. My absolute favorite series of books, with the wonderful advantage of over 800 pages. WHAT !! 800+ Pages !! In a single book in a series ?? REMARKABLE !!! I love a great deal on an even greater book !! Thank you LAW Series !
I read the series through book six. Book 1 was free with kindle so bought it. Loved the first of the series and was lucky that the author had completed the series through book 6. I purchased all available at that point. Read and loved each one. Since I completed book 6, I have read many other novels. A few weeks ago I checked and found the story continued through book 9. I purchased 7, 8 and 9 then reread book 6 to refresh my memory. All that said, I finished book 7, and loved it!!! Angela While has an amazing imagination, can keep several story lines active and coherent, and juggle many different and unique characters. AMAZING. On to book 8, dearly departed. By the way. I did read the Alexis series as well. If you like LAW, you will like her other books as well. I'm a big fan!!!!
and the story continues... Book 9 provides a seamless transition from book 8. If your considering this book you must read the series from book 1 to appreciate the storyline, the characters past and present and Angela Whites ability to weave a story that keeps you entertained and enlightened for hours on end. As I've said before, this series is a must read even if dystopian stories are not what you normally read. Book 1 is free, give it a try and see if your hooked!
I can't remember how long it's been since I read book 8 but it was well worth the wait. When I first discovered this series, it had been out for a while so I was able to read most of the books in a relatively short time with very few exceptions. I had read a number of books over the last year and when I saw book 9 was available I ordered it right away. Somehow the author takes you back to where you left off and it's as if you never left. Everything came back to me right away. It was another page turner that kept me up into the wee hours. Angela White has a wonderful ability to create amazing story lines that just keep you guessing all the way to the end. I guess I'll just have to wait until book 10 comes out. I highly recommend this book
Fantastic installment! I really enjoyed this latest in the series. The story has always been wonderful, the editing not so much - and that really took away from the story. However, this latest installment was so much better. The editing errors that persist are still mostly at the last third or so of the book - like someone was getting tired and missing edits. Overall, much easier to stay in the world created by the writing without so many editing issues knocking you out of the story. This Life After War series has really got a unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre that I haven't seen anywhere else, and I'm a big fan. You've got your nuclear war, you've got your survivors - both the "good" guys and the "bad" guys. Of course you've got your heros and heroines. The characters are well developed and its easy to become interested in what will happen to them next. You've also got some paranormal or supernatural elements that really spice up the genre and make the story that much more interesting. It's more than just a group of survivors trying to do the "right" thing in a very bad situation. I'm very much looking forward to reading to the end of the series.
It seems it has been so long since I read the first book. I really enjoyed those books until Kendle entered in. I really don't care for her character and I thought parts that had her in it were not as interesting as the other parts with the Eagles and Angela and Marc. I did find the book a bit confusing due to so many characters, but all in all, I did enjoy the book and I'm happy I read this one. Getting tired of Angela being sick though. I want Angela and Marc as a pair and not Adrian. If there is a book 10, I will buy it. Get rid of the Mexicans and Kendle and her stories. Sick of both of them.
So upbeat the story and add a little more romance between Angela and Marc is what I would like.
